Maratea Filmfestival

This year for the second time the Maratea Filmfestival takes place. From August 22nd - 25th 2010 there will be offered a diverse programme providing the visitor an insight into art, culture and movie. Topic of the this year's festival is the swedish cinema.

You would like to visit Rome, but spend your holidays in the midst of nature? This is indeed possible at gorgeous Lago di Bracciano to the north-west of Rome. It presents a unique way of combining nature and culture during your holidays.
Rome is about 35 kilometres off and can be reached by bus or train.

Our hotels in the Cilento – certified for environmental and quality management, respectively

We choose all our accommodations in person on-site. In doing so, we attach great importance to the individual touch and the quality of the accommodations. Many of our hotels in the Cilento have, furthermore, been prized for environmental or quality management by independent committees. 
Hotel Marulivo (Pisciotta), for example, is EMAS-certified (Ecomanagement and Audit Scheme). EMAS was developed by the European Union and is a combination of environmental management and environmental statement. Country estate Le Favate (Terradura), including its holiday apartment Casa Matteo, is very pleased to have been commended by the renowned organization Slow Food. The latter has made it its task to preserve and keep alive culinary culture.

“Bandiera Blu” for numerous beaches in the Cilento

Every year, the Cilento scores exceptionally well concerning the ranking of beaches with excellent bathing water quality.
The coveted “Blue Flag” for outstanding water quality is awarded by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) which bases its choice on very strict criteria. For years, the Cilento has been the top of the list in Campania. Many of its municipalities are allowed to fly the “bandiera blu”.
In 2010, the following towns and their beaches are pleased to have been awarded the Blue Flag: Agropoli, Castellabate, Montecorice (Agnone, Capitello), Pollica (Acciaroli; Pioppi), Casal Velino, Ascea, Pisciotta, Centola (Palinuro), Vibonati (Villammare) und Sapri. Bordering on the southern end of the Cilento, the area around Maratea (Basilikata) also flies the Blue Flag.

Scenic highlights, quaint scenes of village life, favourite beaches, minor and great holiday experiences … you always try to capture and record the most beautiful moments of your holiday. We, at Cilentano, are looking forward to your holiday photos and your recordings by video or mobile. As in the years before, the best submissions (by e-mail or by mail in paper quality or as photo CD) will be rewarded with a € 50 voucher for photos and a € 100 voucher for videos. We can hardly wait to receive your impressions of Southern Italy!
